Movies Made on Mull

I’ve wanted to make a compilation video from some of the films shot on Mull for quite some time. A couple of days ago I finally got around to it.
Georgia pointed out that the film would be much more interesting with sound clips from the films scattered throughout it, so this morning she sat down and spent several hours scouring through the films to find interesting bits.
The following film is the result of our efforts:

Movies Made on Mull

You can play guess the film, or if you prefer, here’s a list of the films from which the footage and audio was plucked.

I Know Where I’m Going (1945) Dir: Powell & Pressburger
When Eight Bells Toll (1971) Dir: Etienne Perier
Kidnapped (1971) Dir: Delbert Mann
Madame Sin (1972) Dir: David Greene
Eye of the Needle (1981) Dir: Richard Marquand
Year of the Comet (1992) Dir: Peter Yates
Entrapment (1999) Dir: Jon Amiel
Island (2011) Dir: Elizabeth Mitchell & Brek Taylor
The Silent Storm (2014) Dir: Corrina McFarlane
Iona (2015) Dir: Scott Graham

I wrote the music for the film using Launchpad. It’s a versatile app that’s a lot of fun to use!

Dark Shadows (2012), as well, perhaps. An interesting compilation and I would like to know the extent to which these films influence visitors. Willing to be involved in a survey.

Thanks for the comment Graham.
Aye, I remember there being a Depp presence on the island around 2008/09 or so. I looked through Dark Shadows again and again, but didn’t really see very much. An element of the main door of the big building in the film could be from Glengorm, but I’m not sure. The shore stuff was filmed down south in England, I believe. There’s also a tiny split second shot of Glengorm in Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer I think. It’s so short though and dark I didn’t include it. There will be lots more I’ve missed, I’m sure. There’s certainly one film I’ve left out on purpose…
