Screen Argyll – BFI Film Academy

Screen Argyll offer a BFI Film Academy in Animation for 16-19 year olds.
It’s lead by the Screen Argyll team, Jen Skinner, Jack Lockhart, Jim Parkyn and myself.
Over the course of the work the students explore different styles of animation, fundamental film and sound techniques in the process of creating their own films.

The students then arrange a public screening of their work.

As part of the work the students take part in the Arts Award scheme from Trinity College.
Both Jen and myself are trained Arts Award advisors at Bronze and Silver levels.

The BFI Film Academy has taken different shapes over the years as we’ve delivered it in person in Oban before the pandemic and then online during, and afterwards.

We take a real interest in our graduates and try to find opportunities for them where we can, celebrating their work with other organisations such as the Scottish Youth Film Foundation and FilmG.
